🖨 PRINTING INSTRUCTIONS

All patterns are provided in standard US Letter format.

Print at 100% (actual size) to achieve the intended finished quilt dimensions.

When printing on A4 instead of US Letter, the final output will be reduced to approximately 97.7% of the intended dimensions. No manual scaling to 97.7% is necessary.

Larger versions require more printed pages, taping, and workspace for preparing and organizing your foundations.

📐 RESIZING

30×30": Further reduction is not recommended. This detailed portrait contains compact pieces, particularly around facial features and narrow geometric shapes.

50×50" and 70×70": These larger patterns can be reduced.

Use the formula:

(Desired size ÷ Pattern size) × 100 = Print percentage

Example: To reduce the 50×50" version to 40×40":

(40 ÷ 50) × 100 = 80%

Print at 80% to obtain the smaller quilt.

All pieces and seam allowances decrease proportionally. The finished dimensions are determined by the sewing lines, preserving the original design proportions.

Significant reductions can make detailed areas more difficult to sew. We recommend choosing the closest available size whenever possible.

Enlargement beyond 100% is not recommended.

🎯 SKILL LEVEL

Intermediate – Previous FPP experience recommended.

With 532 pieces and 51 sections, Obsidian Skull is the most detailed design in our Halloween collection.

Suitable for confident beginners already familiar with Foundation Paper Piecing and experienced quilters who enjoy precision sewing and intricate geometric portraits.

• 30×30": Compact pieces, especially around facial details, require accurate stitching, careful fabric positioning, and good lighting. Less space and paper preparation are needed.

• 50×50": Larger pieces provide more comfortable sewing and visibility, with additional printed foundations and sections to organize.

• 70×70": Generous pieces make detailed areas easier to handle, but the larger project requires significantly more paper preparation, taping, workspace, and organization.

A systematic approach to labeling and storing sections is recommended for all sizes.
