📂 WHAT YOU’LL RECEIVE
Every size includes:
• Main instruction & reference document, with fabric requirements, color references and section assembly order
• Sections & Colors Naming Closeups
• Foundation Paper Piecing tutorial
30 × 30"
• Color FPP printable file — US Letter
• Blank FPP printable file — US Letter
50 × 50" and 70 × 70"
• Color FPP printable file — US Letter
• Color FPP printable file — A2
These Color files include additional Blank section reference pages for selected detailed areas. Use them when you need a cleaner view of the sewing lines; they are supporting references, not an additional quilt pattern or a separate complete Blank file.
The printable files include a Print Scale Check, Glue Edge Index and page numbering to help you check the printed scale and locate page connections.
.
🖨 PRINTING & SCALE
Print at 100% / Actual Size. Do not use Fit to Page, Scale to Fit, Shrink to Fit or another automatic scaling option. Measure the scale check before printing the full pattern.
US Letter files include a 1" × 1" scale check. A2 files include both 1" × 1" and 5 × 5 cm checks.
Color pattern page counts:
• 30 × 30" — 28 US Letter pages
• 50 × 50" — 74 US Letter pages or 16 A2 pages
• 70 × 70" — 127 US Letter pages or 30 A2 pages
These counts exclude print-reference/index pages and the additional Blank section references. The complete Color PDFs contain 29 pages for 30", 106 US Letter / 25 A2 pages for 50", and 135 US Letter / 34 A2 pages for 70". The separate 30" Blank PDF also contains 29 pages.
For the 50" and 70" sizes, A2 means fewer sheets and fewer joins to tape together. Use an A2-compatible printer or a print/copy shop, and print the color pattern pages first. Consult or print the Blank section references only as needed.
Use thin paper where possible to make removal easier after sewing. If a US Letter file is printed on A4 instead, the finished quilt will measure approximately 97.7% of the intended dimensions.
.
🧵 FABRIC REQUIREMENTS
Fabric quantities are based on 43" wide fabric. The chart gives both the technical minimum for each color and a recommended purchase amount in yardage, with a small cutting margin.
The suggested palette combines black, three purple shades, dark burgundy, mahogany, rust orange, orange, light yellow and white.
.
📐 RESIZING
The 30 × 30" version is the smallest size offered. Reducing it further is not recommended for sewing comfort, as the detailed pieces become even smaller. It is possible if you are comfortable working with very tiny pieces and reduced seam allowances.
For a smaller finished size, use:
(Desired size ÷ Pattern size) × 100 = Print percentage
For example, a 40 × 40" quilt from the 50 × 50" pattern requires 80% printing. Pieces and seam allowances decrease proportionally. Do not enlarge the pattern beyond 100%.
.
🎯 SKILL LEVEL
This cat portrait includes detailed piecing around the eyes, ears, muzzle and whiskers. The main demands are accurate sewing, narrow angular pieces, color changes and keeping 33 sections organized.
The 30" version needs greater precision with smaller pieces. The 50" and 70" versions give more room within each piece, but require more workspace and handling of larger sections.
No Y-seams are required. The included tutorial explains the FPP technique, while the main document provides the section assembly order.

🎁 PERFECT FOR

⚠️ PLEASE NOTE — DIGITAL PATTERN
This listing is for a DIGITAL Foundation Paper Piecing (FPP) pattern. No physical product will be shipped.
Please review the selected pattern size, contents and project information before purchasing. Patterns are sold by size; a different size requires a separate purchase unless otherwise stated.
Due to the nature of digital products, returns, exchanges and cancellations are generally not accepted for change of mind, purchasing the wrong size, personal preference, or dissatisfaction with the level of difficulty.
This does not affect any mandatory consumer rights that may apply.
If you believe your pattern contains an error, is missing content, is defective, or does not correspond to the listing, please contact me with details of the page, section or piece concerned. I will review the issue and, where appropriate, provide clarification, a corrected file or a replacement file.
For the 30" version, the Color FPP file provides color references, while the separate Blank FPP file omits color-number labels for a clearer view of sewing lines. For the 50" and 70" versions, selected Blank section references are included within the Color PDFs.
A preference for a different FPP methodology, a misunderstanding of the supplied instructions, or a minor labeling or presentation issue that does not prevent the relevant piece from being identified or the pattern from being assembled does not by itself mean that the digital product is defective.
