📦 WHAT’S INCLUDED

Each size includes exactly five PDF documents. The shared documents are OPEN FIRST, the Mirrored Section and Color Guide, and the Paper Piecing Tutorial. The two remaining files depend on your selected size.

30 × 39 inches

  • FPP Color — US Letter
  • Complete FPP Blank — US Letter

No A2 version is included in this size.

50 × 65 and 70 × 91 inches

  • FPP Color — US Letter
  • FPP Color — A2

These sizes include neither a separate complete Blank pattern nor appended Blank reference pages.

.

🖨️ PRINTING & FILE FORMAT

  • 30 × 39: 35 Color pattern pages in US Letter, plus 1 reference page. The separate complete Blank file also contains 35 pattern pages plus 1 reference page.
  • 50 × 65: 92 Color pattern pages in US Letter or 21 in A2, each with 1 reference page.
  • 70 × 91: 160 Color pattern pages in US Letter plus 2 reference/index pages, or 38 Color pattern pages in A2 plus 1 reference page.

Color pattern page counts exclude reference/index pages. The US Letter and A2 versions supplied for a given size produce the same finished dimensions.

Print at 100% / Actual Size, without Fit to Page or automatic scaling, and check the scale square before printing the complete pattern. A2 requires a compatible large-format printer or print service and reduces the number of sheets to organize and join.

Printing the US Letter pattern to fit A4 may reduce it to approximately 97.7% of its original size, slightly reducing the finished dimensions.

.

📐 CHOOSING YOUR SIZE

Choose the finished dimensions that suit your project and available workspace. The 30 × 39-inch version keeps the portrait compact, with smaller facial details. The larger versions provide more room within the pattern pieces but require more space for template preparation and section assembly.

.

🧵 SEWING NOTES

  • 30 × 39: small angular pieces around the eyes, nose and mouth require precise seam placement.
  • 30 × 39: narrow, tapered pieces shape the ears and chest; check their points when joining sections.
  • 50 × 65: organizing the 92 US Letter Color pattern pages and keeping sections identified is the main preparation challenge. The A2 version reduces this to 21 Color pattern pages.
  • 70 × 91: allow sufficient workspace to sort and assemble the 160 US Letter Color pattern pages. Working section by section helps keep the templates manageable; the A2 version reduces the Color pattern to 38 pages.

🧶 FABRIC REQUIREMENTS

Fabric requirements vary by selected size. Check the fabric requirements shown in the product images before purchasing and use the information for your chosen finished dimensions.

.

📉 RESIZING

For a smaller version, calculate the print percentage using: (Desired size ÷ Purchased pattern size) × 100. Use matching dimensions in the calculation and apply the same percentage to both axes.

For example, printing the 50 × 65-inch version at 80% produces a 40 × 52-inch version. Reduction also makes the pieces and printed seam allowances smaller, so check a test print before proceeding. Choose the closest suitable offered size rather than enlarging a smaller pattern.

Great pattern

I had never done paper piecing before so I watched a bunch of videos and bought this pattern in the large size. It was definitely not easy, but I really enjoyed the challenge. I wanted to point out that the first fabric is called Apricot on the pattern, but it’s actually “Amelia’s Apricot.” Big difference. I changed up the colors and didn’t love how it came out at first so I started another one and now I love both of them. It’s an awesome pattern. Really turned out well. Oh and note that you should probably buy way more fabric than you need if you aren’t an expert at this. Just in case.

Amazing golden retriever pattern!

This pattern was such a great find. Easy instructions and a fun project. There is a lot of pieces but definitely worth the work. I changed the colours to match my dog better and it will be turned into a cherished memory blanket. Great work! Thank you for this amazing pattern.
