🖨 PRINTING & SCALE
Color pattern page counts: 30 × 30 US Letter — 24; 50 × 50 US Letter — 72 and A2 — 15; 70 × 70 US Letter — 129 and A2 — 28.
Commercial Color page counts exclude reference/index pages and Blank appendices. Physical PDF totals include the additional pages.
Physical PDF totals: 30 × 30 Color — 25 and separate Blank — 25; 50 × 50 US Letter — 94 and A2 — 19; 70 × 70 US Letter — 158 and A2 — 34.
Print at 100% / Actual Size. Disable Fit to Page and other automatic scaling options. Measure the 1 × 1-inch test square before printing the remaining pages.
For A2, use a compatible printer or print shop and also check the 5 × 5 cm test square. A2 produces the same finished quilt size with fewer sheets and less taping.
Printing the US Letter file on A4 produces approximately 97.7% of the intended dimensions. This is the resulting scale; do not manually set the printer to 97.7%.

🧵 FABRIC REQUIREMENTS
Fabric requirements are based on 43-inch-wide fabric. Use the chart supplied with your selected size, distinguishing the technical minimum in inches from the recommended purchase quantity in yards. Label all eight fabrics to maintain the purple feather shading, pale highlights and warm eye detail against the black background.

📐 RESIZING
For a reduction, use (Desired size ÷ Pattern size) × 100 = Print percentage. Pieces and seam allowances decrease proportionally. Enlargement beyond 100% is not recommended.
For example, reducing the 50-inch pattern to 45 inches requires 90% printing.
Further reduction of the 30-inch version is possible, but is not recommended for sewing comfort: the smallest pieces and seam allowances become even smaller. Reduce it only if you are comfortable sewing very tiny pieces and working with proportionally narrower seam allowances.

🎯 SKILL LEVEL
Precise fabric placement and careful sewing are needed around the eye, beak and narrow feather shapes. Keep section labels visible and follow the supplied assembly guidance for the 21 sections, A–U. No Y-seams are required. The Paper Piecing Tutorial explains the technique; previous FPP experience will help with the finer details.
The 30-inch version has the smallest details. The 50-inch and 70-inch versions offer more room within individual pieces, but need more workspace for paper preparation and section handling.

For the 30-inch version, the Color FPP provides color references and the separate complete Blank FPP omits color-number labels. For the 50-inch and 70-inch versions, selected Blank references are appended within the Color PDFs; no separate complete Blank FPP is included.
A preference for a different FPP methodology, a misunderstanding of the supplied instructions, or a minor labeling or presentation issue that does not prevent the relevant piece from being identified or the pattern from being assembled does not by itself mean that the digital product is defective.
